Now that Resident Evil Village is out, many people are getting ready to begin their journey as Ethan Winters. Before starting the latest horror game from Capcom, you should know a few things. We’re here to help, though. Here are our tips and tricks for Resident Evil Village!
What you need to know about Resident Evil Village before you play
If you’ve played Resident Evil before, you already know that you’ll have to solve puzzles and kill enemies. We have some helpful guides to puzzles here and there, but what about more general advice? The good news is that there is no “wrong” way to play, but there are a few tips that will help you make the most of your time on this scary journey.
Pay attention to the map.
Whether in the Village, the castle or the later parts of the story, you will see blue or red areas on your map. Red means that you haven’t looked at every part of a certain area. This is a great thing to pay attention to because some of the things you can find aren’t always easy. You might have to get on your knees or break some glass to find it, but the goal is to turn all the red areas blue. When it turns blue, you’ll know you’ve finished and can move on.
Make peace with Duke.
Duke is a helpful boy, just like the Merchant in Resident Evil 4. He also talks a lot more and gives you important information about important story quests to help you find Rose and figure out what’s going on with Mia. Duke will appear everywhere, even where you are sure he can’t fit.
Always talk to him. You can purchase from him and deal to him. This is where your weapons will level up, and your inventory space will grow. He will also show you where to go after you have cleared Castle Dumitrescu. This guy is very helpful, so give him some love.
Boost your stock
Duke should help you add to your stock as soon as you can. Trust me, if you don’t? You’ll miss out on some really powerful weapons and important story items later in the game.
Level, level, level
Don’t just use the weapons as they are; upgrade them! You can improve your weapons’ power and ammo, among other things, through Duke. Doing this to your unique way of playing will make Lady D and the others wish they had never messed with your arsenal. If you don’t, your damage against enemies will be much less than it could be.
Craft, craft, craft
You can buy ammunition from Duke, but why waste your money? In this world, you can find things that can be used to make weapons and ways to heal. This will help you when you’re not with Duke and ensure you’re never in a situation where you need a gun but only have a knife. Village’s crafting is very easy to use, so do it! It will tell you how much material you already have and still need. More goods. You can’t make your wife appear out of nowhere. Sorry, friend.
Adjust your tools
You can put your weapons on your gear wheel in any slot. Try it. When I played on PS5, I always put my shotgun in the top D-pad slot because it was my go-to weapon. Put your melee and firepower in the right slots. Know where you put them, too, so you can fight with more strategy: shotgun, pistol, knife – DEAD. I’m glad to help.
Block or your life
By kicking an enemy back, you can stop an attack. This will also help you reload your gun when in a tight spot. If you want to save your bullets or need an extra second to switch weapons, kick them back and make them pay.
Sometimes, you would like to carry a knife to a gunfight.
If you can, end up saving your ammo. Knives can do a lot of damage, so use them. Between that and obstructing, it’s simple to be more strategic about how you fight the different enemies you’ll face while looking for Rose.
Don’t be scared of being a chicken.
Sometimes the best way to win is not to lose. This means that you shouldn’t be afraid to be a wimp. Since you can’t end up saving outside of typesetters, you should be careful not to put yourself in danger when it’s not necessary. If the battle starts against you, there’s no shame in turning around and running for your life, even if it means running away for a while to get your bearings.
Enjoy the tale
If you get stuck trying to find everything, sit back and enjoy the story. Most of the few side quests and small tokens can be found just by having played through the main story. Pay attention, though.
There are many hints in the conversation, especially what Duke says. If you’re unsure where the story is going, go to the next part. So, that’s all! These are our tips and tricks for Resident Evil Village. Find out how Ben Reeves felt about trying to fight the google farts of Village this time.
