Many players do not even want to hear about making purchases at the Epic Store or assigning free productions such as Thimbleweed Park or Transistor to their account, which are of course to encourage people to create an account in the Epic store. The boycott, negative reviews for the Metro and Borderlands series, minus the trailers for exclusive productions on the Epic platform – all of this has been happening in recent weeks. There might be time someday to gather all of our editors’ thoughts on Epica’s licks, but now you have to get down to the point, simply, as a GAMES player. So what does Epic Store have interesting to offer? Let’s take a look at the top 5 titles that will be exclusively available on the Fortnite Dev platform for PC this year. My list, subjective, but I believe you will like it. Maybe you didn’t know about one of these games and you will become interested in it. As for the boycotts, the text is also worth reading – so check what you won’t play on PC in 2019.
5. Shakedown Hawaii
Release date: May 7, 2019
Also on: PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch
The creators of the warmly received Retro City Rampage started another production resembling the Grand Theft Auto and Saint’s Row series, but on 16-bit ********. Chaos on the screen, pixelosis, an open world and building great cooperation in Hawaii – it must be successful. In almost a week you will finally be able to play the game Vblank Entertainment Inc., but of course in the case of PC players, only on the Epic Store. Shakedown Hawaii makes this list mainly due to its imminent release, the next games on this list will probably be louder among reviewers and players. However, looking at the high ratings of Retro City Rampage, I expect a really great turkey.
4. Control
Release date: August 27, 2019
Also on: PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Remedy is a great studio and their productions are always at least good. The Finns may not have too many productions to their credit, but almost all of them have made a mark on the game’s history in some way. So I can’t say I’m not waiting for Control, it’s a third-person action game that presents Jesse Faden, an agent with special abilities, tasked with finding out about her past. Remedy’s latest production is of course compared to Quantum Break, although the authors maintain that despite the similarities of the characters, ideas and engine, there are differences between these productions. Control promises to be a more open game than Remedy’s previous game, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the Finns title.
3. The Sinking City
Release date: June 27, 2019
Also on: PlayStation 4, Xbox One
The Ukrainian studio Frogwares is so fond of creating the series about Sherlock Holmes that in our latest production we also play the role of a detective. Inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft, The Sinking City tells the story of detective Charles W. Reed, who goes to Oakmont to investigate the flood caused by supernatural forces. The authors boast about the possibility of multiple passages of The Sinking City thanks to the open investigation system, where there are several potential endings of given cases. I am not a fan of this type of games, but I would like to check The Sinking City – but so many good productions come out that maybe in this case this title will actually be released on Steam in a year?
2. Phoenix Point
Release date: September 2019
Also on: Xbox One
I must admit that when I saw the Phoenix Point pre-order on the Epic Store, I was terribly surprised. The first surprise – the very fact of switching to temporary (one-year) exclusivity, and the second – the price of the game. 100 zlotys in the Epic Store, and 140 on the official website of the game! Already in September, we will find out what the answer to the XCOM series looks like, for which Julian Gollop himself is responsible, i.e. the man responsible, among others for creating the iconic UFO: Enemy Unknown. Phoenix Point, as I love strategy games, is a certainty for me when it comes to September releases.
1. Borderlands 3
Release date: September 13, 2019
Also on: PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Could there be anything else in the first place? No way. Borderlands 3 is a Metro Exodus caliber title that Steam may really miss, or at least until April 2020, because Epic has a new Gearbox game exclusive by then. The action of the three is to take place five years after the events of the second installment. The player will again have four heroes at his disposal, and the game scheme of the cycle will be kept. The first gameplays from the game have already hit the network, which clearly show us that we will get an action-packed space FPS in September. PC players – will you wait until April?
Borderlands 3 gameplay
Okay, what’s your opinion about Epica exclusives? What are you waiting for the most? After all, I have put together some really great, promising productions on this list. I did not write about a few, and it would be worth it, in addition, today another exclusive game is debuting on Epic Store – Close to the Sun. It would be appropriate to write about the approach of the “little giant” to the industry and the shocking information about Rocket League, but in another article …
