A study reveals that there is no longer any difference between iOS and Android apps, what will now be the new battles between the 2 great rivals?

A new study from investment bank Piper Jaffray says the quality of apps on Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android is now fair, pushing the two tech giants into a race to improve embedded services.

Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said his checks on the top 200 paid and free on both the AppStore and Google Play have brought fair results; According to Munster, it no longer matters how many apps each operating system has, but how many apps fully satisfy users. In the study, the top 200 free and paid in both platforms were compared and there was a significant discrepancy in the number of reviews that users released after purchasing an app, in iOS in paid apps we find 6.1 million comments, in Android 3.4 million. While for free apps, we find 61.9 million comments in Android and 26.7 million in iOS. Always looking at the free and paid tops, Munster notes that Android apps have an average rating of 4.28, while iOS 4.16.

Munster says now that parity has been achieved in apps, the new “war” will be between Siri and Google Now, Touch ID and Google voice activation; Apple may be more focused on expanding iBeacons services and extending Passbook support to include credit cards.
