Announced ‘The Sinking City’, an investigation and mystery adventure inspired by Lovecraft
Bigben Interactive and Frogwares have announced the The Sinking City publishing and distribution deal, the new title from the development studio that will captivate players with its atmosphere based on the works of HP Lovecraft.
The Sinking City is a adventure and investigation game set in the fictional town of Oakmont, Massachusetts, in the 1920s. This open world is plagued by a supernatural force that is taking control of the city… and the minds of its inhabitants..
Wael Amr, CEO of Frogwares has stated that “The Sinking City is our biggest project, a natural evolution of our way of designing games that we have been polishing since our first Sherlock Holmes game.” In addition, he has indicated that “the commercial and critical success of the Sherlock Holmes saga will allow The Sinking City to be a much bigger and more ambitious game. We look forward to continuing this agreement and being able to join forces once again.” Frogwares are the creators of the Sherlock Holmes video games, which have found their way into the consoles of many players on their own merits.
For his part, Benoit Clerc, Director of the Videogames Area at Bigben Interactive, stated that “we are proud to continue our collaboration with Frogwares on a project as rich and innovative as The Sinking City. Lovecraft’s imagination has been a source of inspiration for the fantastic from the 20th to the 21st century and the point of view the studio has chosen is impressive. All the talent of this experienced team is needed to develop an open world that combines investigation, action and adventure in a city where horror leads to madness.
The Sinking City is currently in development and will be available throughout 2018 for consoles and PC.
