March 16, 2020: We were already very impressed with the Anton app two years ago. Now everyone is talking about it again due to the current nationwide school closings due to the COVID-19 virus. With the Anton app, students have the opportunity to learn additional material to match the school type and grade.
It used to be clear in our elementary school days that you learn to write and read according to a set plan, today as parents you cannot rely on the children learning to write without errors. The method of writing by ear messes up our children – it doesn’t work. A few years later, the kids still don’t have what it takes to write flawlessly. With Anton you get a couple of elementary school educational games for children.
Anton – elementary school to high school – learning content
Anton is learning with fun. Over 20,000 tasks with more than 100 types of exercises, educational games and interactive explanations are waiting for your child. All topics that appear in the learning plan can also be found in the Anton app. Your child collects trophies and points for independent learning at home.
Before using it for the first time, you create a new user (the app can be used by several children). You state whether you are a student or a teacher and a name. Then you choose a human or a monster avatar.
The next option is to choose your school, for example to study in groups with other users and to compare results. If your school does not yet exist, you can suggest it to receive five reward coins. Then you enter the grade level you are going to and choose whether you want to start with German or math. After the registration is complete, Anton will show you selected tasks for your grade. After selecting a task, you will find an explanation of the task as well as other tasks such as creating sentences, rearranging or differentiating sentence types.
You will receive stars depending on how well you have solved a task. Trophies can then be won in the final test. You will receive coins for each learning unit. You can use these coins to play in the arcade. You can find the arcade by clicking on the three lines. You start with the first tasks and, for example, assign sentences. These fall down from the upper edge of the display and must be assigned by clicking on the correct button.
The better you are, the more stars there are for the task. Any task can be repeated. The exercises carried out can be rated by your child with smileys.
Practicing is also not neglected in mathematics. There are different tasks for each grade level, such as the arithmetic chains and arithmetic houses known from teaching. These can be found in different levels of difficulty.
With the arithmetic houses, the child has to select the appropriate digits from the digits shown below the house. By clicking on it, the app inserts the digits into the house and the child receives trophies and stars again.
The app menu takes you to the child’s profile with their achievements. You can also choose the subjects here or create groups to play against others. You can use the search function to find all subjects or classes. The arcade and the settings can also be found in the menu.
In the settings, you can change your profile if necessary and add, for example, your email address or telephone number. A login code (bar code) can also be created in order to use the app on other devices. You can also adjust sound effects and font size here. Various mini-games can be found in the arcade, which are paid for with the coins earned. You will receive instructions for each game and you can choose a level of difficulty. The menu button of the game takes you to the list of the best.
Your child will have fun learning with Anton. Whether German or maths are presented here according to age and class. There are points, crowns or trophies for correct solutions. With the points earned, small mini-games can be played as a reward in the arcade.
Anton is available free of charge in the Play Store. The app does not display any advertisements.
