Apple has recently updated the homepage of its official website by adding a tribute to Nelson Mandela who passed away a few days ago.

Mandela, who was President of South Africa from 1994-1999, was the first South African president to be elected in a democratic election as he was the first black South African to take that position.

Apple decided to make such a gesture considering that Mandela was one of the influential personalities who appeared in Apple’s famous “Think Different” advertising campaign.

Tim Cook, Phil Schiller and many other Apple employees have also decided to remember Mandela with a few Tweets as a sign of the great respect they have towards this great man.
