Apple sent a team of doctors to the Pegatron factory after news of the death of a 15-year-old worker
In these days we have informed you of the death of a 15-year-old worker assigned to the assembly of the new iPhones in the Pegatron factories. Apple appears to have sent a team of doctors to investigate this matter.
Here is what Apple communicated:
As for the young assembly line employee, Pegatron spokesperson Charles Lin said the 15-year-old used a 21-year-old cousin’s ID for the job, so the factory didn’t know he was a minor. Pegatron, along with Apple, concluded that the working conditions are unrelated to the boy’s death noting that the employee had only recently started work and the assembly line conditions would not cause an illness such as pneumonia.
Investigations are still ongoing. We will inform you in case of news.
