A special DOA5 Last Round tournament will take place during the event, marking the title’s first major appearance in EVO. Those who are up for the challenge and want to take part in this unforgettable showdown will be able to register soon; more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The producer of the DOA 5 series, Yosuke Hayashi and its manager yohei shimbori made some statements regarding the announcement of the tournament:

Thanks to the support of fans of DEAD OR ALIVE and the fighting genre, we are pleased to announce that DOA5 Last Round will be part of the world’s largest fighting game festival, EVO.

Five years have passed since the DOA5 series began and over 10 million players have played it. Meanwhile, the DOA community has expanded to become larger than ever.

To move to the next stage, we announced the end of the DOA5 saga in December, but to our surprise the gods of fighting games have given us another opportunity to let players experience the franchise in one event once again.

Although it will be a side tournament, the fact that DOA joins EVO is key in itself and something that we have wanted for more than 10 years.

So, we hope you’ll join us and enjoy the show.

Fans who want to take part in the celebrations will be able to sign up for their tickets on the official EVO website in the coming weeks; another registration will be required for entry to this special tournament to be held at the event.
