Distrust, survival and horror
Clearly inspired by The thing by John Carpenter, Distrust will test our ability to survive in extreme conditions and our ability to distinguish between reality and hallucination. Hence, its title translates as “Distrust”.
A helicopter crash has left a group of explorers stranded near an arctic base. As they try to find their way back, all they’re doing is sinking deeper into a nightmare scenario.
When they sleep, they attract a terrifying force that sucks the life out of their bodies, but the longer they fight exhaustion and stay awake, the less likely they are to survive…
As the survivors try to get enough sleep to avoid fatigue without dying, they go berserk, eventually reaching the point where they can no longer trust their senses. Eventually, they can’t even tell the difference between reality and a hallucination.
The title has procedurally randomly generated levelstons of quests, game events and plot twists, and the need to fight against extreme weather and an altered reality where nothing can be trusted, even if our eyes see it.
Distrust will be available for PlayStation 4 on the PlayStation Store on Nov. 16.
