DOOM: PlayStation 4 Vs Xbox One

The guys from Gaming Bolt have released a video that compares the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the DOOM beta (beta still ongoing and active on all platforms until 5:59 am on Tuesday 19 April).

The test version of the ID Software shooter shows a dynamic resolution that oscillates between 1600x1080p and 1920x1080p on PlayStation 4, while on Xbox One it loses something more, oscillating between 1350x1080p and 1920x1080p.

Although the Sony console proves to be slightly more reliable as regards the framerate (almost always stable at 60fps), sporadic drops are present on both consoles; also there are small problems with the streaming of the textures and a slightly too pronounced tearing effect in some game situations.

Surprisingly, the console versions also have some graphics options that we can control such as color correction and motion blur.

DOOM: PlayStation 4 vs Xbox One. Who win? It seems therefore we can say, at the conclusion of the tests, that the Beta version of Doom laps (at the moment) slightly better on PS4, with the Xbox One version plagued (as with other games) by the usual small resolution issues and framerate drops.

We release the video comparison of the Beta of Doom between the PlayStation 4 version and the Xbox One version:

Recall that DOOM will be released on May 13 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. For those nostalgic for the old DOOM, released way back in 1993, you can read how to play to a new level.
