Under the name of Dragon Quest VIII: The Journey of the Cursed King, Square Enix launched on PlayStation 2, one of the best Japanese RPGs of that generation. While the Final Fantasy saga was going through a strange decadence, the truth is that Dragon Quest was a joy for all lovers of turn-based role playing. If you could not enjoy it in its day, you are in luck, different media such as Android Police already echo that like other games of the Japanese company, Dragon Quest has been released to the Android platform in its full version.

A powerful wizard has cast a terrible curse on the kingdom of Trodain, turning all its inhabitants into thorns. You, as the sole survivor of the kingdom – a simple royal guard -, you must travel the immense world of Dragon Quest in search of a cure, with the only help of a mare, a strange green creature and Yangus, a highway robber who, due to strange circumstances, decides to join you. Throughout this journey, you will meet different allies who will join you, such as Angelo, a womanizing Templar knight, and Jessica, a young and beautiful sorceress.

This version of Android does not skimp on details, This is the full game that came out years ago on PS2. Same characters designed by the creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, same style of play, same dialogues, weapons and scenarios, although the controls have obviously been redesigned to adapt to touch screens. The game occupies 1.43 gigabytes, it also requires an initial Internet connection to register the game – then it can be disconnected. We also presume a powerful device is needed to make it run smoothly – similar to what happens with XCOM.

Unfortunately, as is the case with all Square Enix Android games, Enjoy this jewel will cost us 17.99 euros. Now, although it may seem somewhat expensive for a game on a mobile device, we are talking about a game that went on sale for about 50 euros and that offers more than 60 hours of fun. So, if you are willing to shell out such an amount for one of the best JRPGs out there, go to Google Play and start walking the journey of the Cursed King.
