According to a recent report by Flurry, free applications on the App Store are more and more and equal 90% of the applications in the store.

According to the report, 90% of applications are free, while 6% cost only $ 0.99 (or € 0.89), so only 4% of applications cost more than the dollar. Just two years ago, the percentage of free applications was 80%.

Another interesting fact is how much a user spends on an application. On the iPhone the user spends on average $ 0.16 per application, while on the Android the user spends only $ 0.06 per application. The most expensive apps are iPad apps, as an Apple tablet owner spends an average of $ 0.50 per app.
