The community’s first Call of Duty: WWII Seasonal Event is upon us. From Friday, December 8 to Tuesday, January 2, Winter Siege will be bringing a variety of activities and free content to all Call of Duty: WWII players. During the Winter Siege, players can enjoy a new snowy Winter Carentan multiplayer map, the return of the Gun Game mode, Double XP Playlists, wintery Headquarters with a visit from a new Quartermaster, and Winter Siege Supply Drops that treat all players to new, limited-time winter gear and content. Winter Siege is packed with content to bring a happy holiday season to the entire Call of Duty: WWII community.
“With the Winter Siege, we want to share the party spirit with the Call of Duty community,” said Aaron Halon, Senior Product Developer, Multiplayer, at Sledgehammer Games. “A wealth of content will be available for everyone to enjoy during the Winter Siege event, from a custom snowy Carentan multiplayer map and the Gun Game mode to Supply Drops filled with winter gear and content.”
Winter Siege Features:
The Call of Duty: WWII Winter Siege event brings a wintery atmosphere to multiplayer like never before. During the Winter Siege event, all players will have access to Winter Carentan, a snowy version of the popular Carentan map previously available as a custom Carentan map only to Season Pass owners.
Gun Game will also make a temporary return during the Winter Siege event. This beloved mode debuts in Call of Duty: WWII during the second week of the event, as part of a non-stop schedule of special 2XP Playlists. A perfect opportunity for players to try various weapons and trick their opponents.
During the Winter Siege event, the Headquarters are given a wintery atmosphere. The beach camp will be given a seasonal appearance and a new Quartermaster, Captain Butcher, throughout the event. Captain Butcher can provide players with Winter Siege Division uniforms, cosmetic items and weapon variants. Special orders with Major Howard allow players to get free variants of all new weapons (orders change daily to give players the chance to unlock a variant of each new weapon for free). Other rare variants of these weapons are available through Collection Bounties, or in Winter Siege Supply Drops. Winter Siege Supply Drops can be earned for free simply by playing Call of Duty: WWII during the event. Every week players log in during the Winter Siege event, they will receive a free Winter Siege Supply Drop. Players can also use the in-game currency Call of Duty Points to purchase Winter Siege Supply Drops.
