Today, Electronic Arts Inc., Maxis and Lucasfilm announced that The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu Game Pack will be released on September 8 for PC via Origin and Steam, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Players will be able to “play with the live” and experience their own unique Star Wars story in a galaxies far, far away.
The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu is set on the remote planet on the edge of the Outer Rim areas, inspired by Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. As first-time visitors to Batuu, Sims will experience the authentic sights and sounds of the Star Wars world, including the Millennium Falcon and DJ R-3X’s interstellar hits in Oga’s Cantina. They will also undertake exciting missions, meet iconic characters like Rey and Kylo Ren, and get their own lightsaber and droid.
“With The Sims, we were lucky enough to integrate the previous Star Wars content into our game through costumes with the help of Lucasfilm,” said Lyndsay Pearson, Executive Producer for The Sims. “Those in-game perks have always garnered rave reviews from our players, so we can’t wait to see how they will use their imaginations to write their own story in this brand-new, exclusive Star Wars adventure.”
In The Sims 4 Star Wars: Journey to Batuu, players will leave their homes to travel to the planet Batuu where they must choose which faction to team up with. The actions Sims take with their chosen faction will ultimately decide the power struggle for the Black Spire outpost. Sims can choose to support Rey and Vi Moradi as part of The Resistance, pledge allegiance to the First Order under Kylo Ren, or earn credits from Hondo Ohnaka and the Villains. As Sims embark on exciting missions, they increase their reputation, unlock new artifacts and unique clothing, customize their own droids, and forge the coveted lightsaber. After they leave Batuu and return home, they can even take some of those items with them, such as the lightsaber, to play with at home.
“We loved the idea of giving players the opportunity to write their own Star Wars story, and The Sims’ unlimited storytelling and self-expression provides the perfect platform to do that,” said Douglas Reilly, VP, Lucasfilm Games . “Our fans are always looking for new ways to immerse themselves in the world of Star Wars, and we hope The Sims will give them an unexpected and interesting new way to influence the world of Batuu and take control of the game in their own way. star system.”
“The talented team at Maxis brought the rich stories of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to life in a whole new way with this experience,” said Scott Trowbridge, portfolio creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering. “Seeing Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu is a thrill because of the unique style of The Sims, including the authentic visuals, sounds and cast of characters.”
