Google prepares for the World Cup in Brazil

Apparently, Google is also preparing for the next World Cup in Brazil by launching Street View for all 12 stadiums of the World Cup.

The first match of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil is scheduled for a week from now and, in what is slowly becoming a tradition around major sporting events, Google has released Street View images of all 12 stadiums today. World Cup.

In addition to the stadiums, Google has also used its cameras to show us the areas around the venues, as well as numerous other sites in the country. These include works of art such as Iguaçu National Park and San Michele delle Missioni.

Google claims that with this update, Street View in Brazil, it now also has images of hundreds of interesting Brazilian sites. In addition, the team today released new images from other South American countries, including Peru, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.

Google, of course, is continually adding new Street View images.

This time around, the company hopes to create something akin to a “digital legacy of the 2014 tournament for years to come” by creating these images of the World Cup stadiums and the streets around it. For those of us who will be watching the games on TV, the images will serve to at least give us a sense of the grandeur of these structures.
