Hideki Kamiya thanks Yoko Taro for “saving” Platinum Games with ‘NieR: Automata’

NieR: Automata has been a total success and that has made its Director Yoko Taro receive all kinds of praise, but he has not been the only one: Platinum Games has also benefited from the success of the game. And that is why its co-founder Hideki Kamiya wanted to thank him via Twitter.

Kamiya mentions that the success of NieR: Automata “has brought Platinum Games a different fanbase, staff growth, a success story, an increase in great job candidates, and a huge profit.” He goes on to say that “it is not an exaggeration to say that Platinum Games has been saved by Yoko Taro.”. “I can’t thank you enough,” she concludes.

Although Platinum Games has had quite a few successful titles, it must be said that NieR: Automata has given the studio a radical makeover, especially after they decided in January not to continue with ScaleBound. And it is that this already famous game has reached 1.5 million copies sold since its launch this year (February 23 in Japan, March 7 in America and March 10 in our territory). Quite a feat.
