Huawei has developed into a real market leader in Android smartphones alongside Google and Samsung. And so the manufacturer from China is also launching its flagships this year, more precisely on March 26th in Paris: the P30, P30 Pro and P30 Lite. And with these devices, too, it pays to be patient with the purchase due to the expected drop in prices.
Huawei P30 – This is how the prices of the 2019 premium smartphone fall
Even if prices for the new flagship series from Huawei are not yet known, one can assume a price increase compared to the previous devices Huawei P20 and Huawei P10. The Huawei P10 was available for release in February 2017 at a price of 599 euros. The P20 cost 649 euros to launch in March 2018 – a difference of 50 euros. The P10 Plus started with 749 euros and the P20 Pro with 899 euros. Here the price difference was already 150 euros.
If you transfer the prices to this year’s flagships, you can expect a starting price of 749 euros for the Huawei P30 and a starting price of 999 euros for the Huawei P30 Pro. This means that the price of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is on a par with the iPhone and Samsung. There is one small exception: The P30 Lite version is to come on the market for the same price as the previous P20 Lite, namely for 369 euros. However, the P30 Lite should offer a larger memory.
Price forecast Huawei P30
The price comparison portal Idealo has created a price forecast for the P30 based on the previous models P10 and P20. Because the previous models were also significantly cheaper after a few months.
Assuming the predicted 749 euros at the start of sales of the Huawei P30, a price saving of 19 percent should already be possible after three months with a view to the price forecast for the P10 and P20 of the previous years. After all, that’s 140 euros less. If you can wait a little longer to buy the smartphone, you can save 200 euros by the end of the year and purchase the P30 for around 500 euros. Thus, nine months after the release, the P30 lost about 35 percent of its value.
Price forecast Huawei P30 Pro
With the Huawei P30 Pro, an integrated quad camera (a camera with four lenses) will conquer the market. A 10x optical zoom should also bring the flagship to the top of the top smartphones in 2019 for even better image quality. This makes the device a competing product of the in-house Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Of course, this equipment has its price. But even the most expensive of the P30 devices will fall in price.
If you assume a starting price of 999 euros for the Huawei P30 Pro, you can see from the price forecast that around four months after the smartphone went on sale, the price is already 200 euros below the starting price. After 6 months, savings of 24 percent are already possible and after 10 months the Huawei P30 Pro should be available 24 percent cheaper.
Price forecast Huawei P30 Lite
The P30 Lite is also being launched this year as the affordable model in this year’s flagship series. Like last year’s P20 Lite model, the P30 Lite is also set to become a bestseller. According to some leaks, the P30 Lite has a 6-inch display and, like the P30, a triple cam. In contrast to the P20 Lite, the memory has been doubled to 128 GB, although the starting price should remain the same.
If you assume the same starting price for the Huawei P30 Lite as the P20 Lite, namely 369 euros, and if you look at the price development of the predecessor, you can also save money after a short waiting period.
After the first 2 months, a price drop of 65 euros (17 percent) is possible. 6 months after the start of sales, the P30 Lite will already be 100 euros cheaper. And if you wait another 3 months, you can save 37 percent (136 euros) when buying a Huawei P30 Lite 9 months after the start of sales.
Conclusion
The starting prices of the flagship smartphones from the manufacturer Huawei and all well-known manufacturers are now all at the limit of 1000 euros. But it is always worth waiting a little, as the price is expected to fall.
