Koch Media has announced a collaboration agreement with the leading European merchandise company Gaya Entertainment GmbHfor the distribution and sale of its products in Spain.
Koch will be responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of future ranges of collectible items, including products from publishers such as: Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda, Capcom, Deep Silver, Microsoft, Sony, Take2, THQ Nordic, Valveand many more.
Merchandising, a growing business
We must recognize it, we love merchandising and it is a very important part of the entertainment industry.
We always want more of our heroes, and proof of this is that entertainment / character licenses remain the main category in the industry, which leads with a turnover that exceeds 118.3 billion dollars accounting for 45% of the total global license market.
Registered and corporate brands occupy second place in the ranking, generating a turnover of 54.6 billion dollars at the point of sale, which represents 20.8% of total income, followed by Fashion with 31.1 billion dollars (11.8% of the total) and Sports with 25.3 billion dollars (9.6%).
Products for all tastes
Merchandising is a market that always empties our wallets if we are not careful. Whether it’s a figure for our shelf, a t-shirt, a mug that decorates our workplace…
We buy them in our favorite stores, also when we go to fairs and we take something as a souvenir at that event or convention where we have shared our hobby with other fans.
Among the collector’s items that can be found in the usual points of sale, there will be a wide variety of official Fallout merchandise, such as hats, mugs, buttons, keychains, t-shirts, prints and even the iconic Nuka Cola metal can.
A wide range of plush toys of some of the most recognizable characters in video games are also available, such as Kratos and Atreus from “God of War”, Nathan Drake from “Uncharted 4”, Aloy from “Horizon Zero Dawn”, Hunter, from “ Bloodborne”, the protagonists of “Ratchet & Clank”, Sackboy from “Little Big Planet”, etc…
So this agreement is great news, because we will find a greater variety of products in the stores… although not so good for our economy, I’m afraid.
