Activision Publishing Inc. and Bungie today announced the official launch of Destiny. The new game will be available for purchase worldwide on the night of September 9 from 00:01.
Destiny is the most pre-ordered new IP game of all time and has already won 180 awards and nominations. In July, more than 4.6 million people tested Destiny, becoming the largest console beta of the current generation of consoles. All these achievements catapult the game to blockbuster franchise status.
“Everyone involved in Activision and Bungie has been committed to the creative development of Destiny,” said Eric Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing Inc. “We have the opportunity to launch something big for the game industry and pop culture. It’s great to receive so much support and enthusiasm on launch day. These moments don’t happen often.”
“Destiny is the game we’ve always wanted to make,” said Harold Ryan, president of Bungie. “We’ve dreamed of creating a universe like this for a while, so you can imagine how amazing it was when the doors opened and we could indeed start making the adventure. From now on, gamers in the world of Destiny can create their own adventures. As far as we are concerned, the essence of the next generation of games is that we, as developers, enable players to come together and give substance to the course of the game in their own way. In the case of Destiny, those are irrevocably epic, action-packed adventures.”
The Destiny Expansion Pass will also be available at the same time as the Destiny game launches. The Destiny Expansion Pass consists of two parts and further expands the Destiny adventure after launch. In both Expansion I and Expansion II, you’ll find brand new storylines, cooperative activities and competitive multiplayer arenas, plus you can earn a variety of new weapons, gear and gear. The complete Expansion Pass has a suggested retail price of $34.99. Expansion I and Expansion II are available separately for $19.99 upon release. Expansion I will be released in December, Expansion II will follow shortly after.
In Destiny, you are Guardian of the last city on Earth and in that capacity you will explore the ancient ruins of our solar system. You move in a social and living universe in which other players are also active. Your journeys stretch from the red dunes of Mars to the lush jungles of Venus. And as you and your friends head out for the stars, you’ll rediscover the treasures and secrets lost after the collapse of humanity – creating your own legend as you go along. Over the course of your adventures, you’ll get stronger and better at handling the rare and exotic weapons and gear you have (and get) at your disposal – gradually developing superior skills. As well as allowing you to follow the course of the story, Destiny also allows you to put your character in unique situations where you either have to cooperate or compete, remembering for example being side by side with your friends – or on the contrary. against them – fight in The Crucible. The Crucible is Destiny’s competitive multiplayer mode with numerous playlists and maps; across the galaxy, the fashion encompasses diverse environments.
Destiny has been rated T (Teen) by the ESRB (Animated Blood and Violence). The game will be available on September 9 from 12:01 am on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 (some features require Xbox Live Gold).
