Meet The Path, an award-winning independent horror game
The first edition of hóPLAY International Video Games Festival happened this week in Bilbao, in Spain, and the great name of the Festival was the horror game The Path, from the independent Belgian developer Tale of Tales.
The game was awarded in the Best Sound and Best Design categories. Inspired by the history of little Red Riding Hood, the game allows the player to control one of six different sisters, who are sent one by one by their mother to perform tasks to help their sick grandmother. The player can choose whether to stay on the path or not. Should he choose to dodge, wolves await him.

These were the first two awards won by Tale of Tales. “We are very proud of these awards”, say the producers of The Path, Auriea Harvey and Michael Samyn. “Our work is highly praised for its experimental style and artistic depth, and somehow marginalized for that. But in the HOPLAY, The Path won for its design and sound without any disagreement”. Check out a gameplay video of the game below.
Did you like what you saw? Because the developer is selling the game for $4.99 on its official website, bringing versions to Windows, Windows-steam and Mac.
