OpTic Gaming Wins Call of Duty World League, ESWC 2016 Event

Under the watchful eye of thousands of fans, who gathered at Le Zénith Arena in Paris this weekend, OpTic Gaming from the United States won the Call of Duty World League, ESWC 2016 Event for the second time.
The competition took place last Friday and Saturday, with the Grand Final on Sunday. Despite being beaten 1-3 by Millenium during the group stages, OpTic Gaming still managed to beat their English rivals in the semi-finals. For example, in the Grand Final, the team came face to face with another English opponent; splyce. They were the first to beat two other American teams before taking on OpTic Gaming.

OpTic Gaming eventually defeated Splyce 3-0, despite Splyce being mostly in the lead during the second map. “We played phenomenally well all day long; we didn’t play a map badly and I’m very proud of my team. This event is amazing and we look forward to next year,” said OpTic Gaming captain Seth “Scump” Abner on the win.

Joshua-Lee “Joshh” Sheppard of Splyce: “ESWC is a great event. We achieved a better score than expected from a new team. We would like to thank our fans as they are so important to us and thanks to them we would not be where we are today.”
