OUTRIDERS passes 3.5 million unique players in first month

SQUARE ENIX today announced that OUTRIDERS, the intense RPG-Shooter in which survival requires aggression, reached more than 3.5 million unique players worldwide in its first month (April 1 – May 1, 2021), based on internal data. Highly acclaimed by players and critics alike, OUTRIDERS is on track to become the company’s next major franchise.

“With over 3.5 million unique players, average playtimes in excess of 30 hours and an extreme amount of players playing the game cooperatively, we and the amazing team at People Can Fly are thrilled about this successful start,” said Jon Brooke, co studio head of Square Enix External Studios. “Launching a new game IP is never easy and we are deeply grateful to the community for their support and feedback – we will continue to listen carefully and assure everyone our commitment to improving the experience over the coming weeks and months . We also look forward to expanding Outriders even further in the future. †

OUTRIDERS is a brutal RPG shooter set in an original dark sci-fi world. As the last remnants of humanity slowly bleed to death in the trenches of the rugged, unforgiving world of Enoch, you awaken as one of the last Outriders and an Altered, who possesses incredible powers. Embark on an epic journey across a hostile planet where all hyperevolved life is out to kill you. Choose from four different classes and use deep and flexible customization options to tailor your character to your own playstyle. Collect guns and gear as awesome as insane, and wield devastating superpowers. Stay aggressive, kill to heal, and take the fight to your enemies in single player or with up to three other players in co-op. Follow the epic narrative campaign to delve deeper and deeper into the unknown environments.
