After Warner, Target and New Line, the film company Paramount also seems to be giving up its belief in HD DVD. The last summer of 2007, the group still told that it would opt for HD-DVD, but due to a clause in the contract, it turned out to be possible to switch afterwards if Warner Bros. would do this too. Warner managed to switch to Blu-Ray last week, so Paramount is now also offered this option. If Paramount also shifts to the Blu-Ray camp, only Universal seems to be the only company that clings to the HD-DVD format. According to many people, this is currently not enough to breathe life into the HD-DVD format.

Releases of the week: Anthem, Devil Engine, Aragami on Switch and more

Update: Paramount has since indicated that it will continue to focus on the HD-DVD format. So the rumor is not true.
