Playstation VR will not drop below 60 FPS, Sony’s word
While PC users are updating their computers for the arrival of new virtual reality headsets, a different story is being made for console users.
After the various announcements that followed that of the availability of the Playstation VR, or the possibility of using the video content on the viewer and the announcement of a new game dedicated to mechs produced by Guerrilla Cambridge, Sony sets the stakes for all developers who have intention to try their hand at developing titles dedicated to the viewer.
During an interview on the Gamasutra portal, Chris Norden, Sony spokesman at GDC, specified what the standards to be adopted regarding the possibility of developing titles or content on the Playstation VR: “If developers want people to sit on the sofa while they play with the viewer for us there are no problems, it is up to them to decide. The developers will have full freedom of development for their games, they will only have to respect the limit of 60 FPS, below which the title will most likely be rejected and consequently will not be published. “
“For us the frame rate is really important and we believe that 60 FPS is the minimum wage for the correct use of all the contents dedicated to virtual reality.“
What do you think of these words, do you believe that Playstation 4 is able to support this frame rate? Or will there be a hole in the water like Microsoft’s Kinect was?
