Rumors, a new Paper Mario for Wii U?

According to the tweets of a famous Nintendo insider, Emily Rogers, it would seem that Intelligent Systems is developing a new chapter in the Paper Mario series for Wii U.

Rumor: 5 sources told us a new Paper Mario will be announced this year for Wii U. Developed by Intelligent Systems.

According to this tweet, it appears Rogers has five sources confirming that the title is expected to arrive on Nintendo’s home console this year. The development as already mentioned would have been entrusted to Intelligent Systems which, in addition to the Fire Emblem series, has already been responsible for all four chapters of Paper Mario. But the news didn’t end there.

The game is currently being localized and tested.

According to this second tweet it appears that the game is in the localization and testing phase. The development would therefore be complete and only these details would be missing to be able to place it on the market.

The highly acclaimed series saw its most recent incarnation in Paper Mario Stiker Star, released in 2012 on 3DS, while on the home console the last appearance dates back to Super Paper Mario for Nintendo Wii dated 2007. Mario’s “paper” world instead appeared indirectly in the latest Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros.

As for the exit it seems unlikely that the game will arrive in the next few months, seen the crowding of titles in March, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and Pokken Tournament, and in April, where all eyes will be for the long-delayed Star Fox Zero.

We look forward to confirmations and further communications, perhaps through a Nintendo Direct that explains what is at stake in the coming months.
