Samsung Galaxy S3: Exploded due to non-original battery

These days there are several news of smartphones exploding and hurting their buyers. Today we bring you the news of a Samsung Galaxy S3 that exploded due to the non-original battery.

The GS3 in question belonged to a Swiss woman and the South Korean giant decided to buy the damaged device to be able to see it. Samsung issued a statement to Le Matin stating that the battery that was installed in the phone at the time of the explosion “was not supplied or manufactured by Samsung or a company authorized by Samsung.”

The owner of the device suffered burns on his thighs, and the images taken of the device appear to show a Samsung sticker on the battery. The sticker may, in fact, be fake, and the battery may have been made by an authorized company.
