Scorn: horror game wins video with 14 minutes of gameplay

remember Scorn? The game that was announced in 2016 was a good few years gone, but now it’s back with everything: the Microsoft showed no less than 14 minutes of unreleased gameplay from the game!

Scorn promises to mix horror and science fiction in a sinister universe that seems “alive”, and is strongly inspired by the works of the visual artist HR Giger, from the Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky and the Polish painter Zdzisław Beksiński.

We still don’t know much about the game in terms of the story, but it promises a gameplay-driven narrative experience, with no cutscenes or anything to “scrub the story” in the player’s face. The idea is that the player feels lost in that world, and needs to learn more about it while playing.

Check out the new trailer below, which features 14 minutes of pure gameplay, and shows us a little more of the game’s disturbing universe, its creatures and puzzles:

Although it was announced as a cross-platform title, in the first half of this year, the studio Ebb Software made the controversial decision to become an exclusive title for SQUARE and Xbox Series X. The game director, Ljubomir Peklar, states that the decision was made to maintain the game’s consistency (in terms of performance) on both platforms.

According to him, “The good performance of the game is important for us. O Xbox Series X is very capable hardware that allows parity with the version for SQUARE about the game”.

In other words, the guys from Playstation 5 will not be able to explore the nightmare world of Scorn. The game is expected to be released sometime in 2021.
