Shenmue I & II’s combat system and mini-games in detail in a new trailer

Next week, more specifically on August 21, the Shenmue saga will begin again with the re-release of Shenmue I & II.

Through the joint work between SEGA and Corey Marshall, the voice actor of the English version who gives life to the character of Ryo Hazuki, we can discover the basic concepts of this legendary saga with a video series 101.

In the previous episodes, the history of the saga and the main characters have been reviewed. Today, Corey us immerse yourself in the combat systems and the different mini-games that players will find in the game.

Fight and relax, there is time for everything

Ryo Hazuki is a Jiu Jitsu master in training who spends his free time taking down bad guys or fighting with his friends. In Shenmue I & II, we will use and unlock real Jiu Jitsu moves that we can level up and transfer between both gameswhich will come in handy as the enemies get more difficult throughout the saga.

Beyond the impressive movements, we will need great reflexes to advance Ryo’s quest for revenge. Players will experience first-hand the Quick Time Eventswhich Shenmue introduces into the world of video games.

But it’s not all about street fighting and martial arts practice for Ryo, you also have to relax. The arcades Shenmue have fully functional versions of all-time classic games, so you can try your hand at Space Harrier. And if outdoor activities are more your thing, take part in a forklift or duck race.

Shenmue I & II is now available to pre-order for some extra goodies, and it’s coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in a week.
