Sony will “improve and increase” PS4 first party games

Sony Computer Entertainment’s investor meeting in Tokyo last week has left several interesting headlines regarding its PlayStation games division, beyond ensuring that PS4 entered the end of its life cycle.

It was John Kodera, its president, who assured that during the next fiscal year, which ends on April 30, 2019, the company wants to “improve and increase” the development and release of exclusive games.

Increase the rate of own releases

Sony’s goal in the coming months is to improve the pace of its own games and increase their quality.

It seems like an attainable goal. In the last fiscal year we have been able to enjoy games like Gran Turismo Sport from Polyphony Digital or God of War from Santa Monica Studios, and in the recently started fiscal year we already have Detroit: Become Human and we expect at least Marvel Spider-Man, Days Gone, The Last of Us: Part II and who knows if Death Stranding.

Also Kodera believes that those IPs that are successful should always be “franchised” and exploited, so maybe that’s a little boost for all those well-known game projects that are waiting to make the jump to the big screen.

Next June 12 at 03:00 (Spanish time) we will be able to enjoy the Sony conference at E3 2018, where we will surely see if these words of Mr. Kodera become facts and a few months of heart attack await us.
