- Okay, we got it… Let me think of a name… Hmm… Mario, Mario Bross, announcement… Oh yeah, I got it, Spotbros.
Good, it probably wasn’t quite like that the conversation, but hey, it sure looked alike. The truth is that we are in front of an application, Spotbros, which comes completely willing to break with what we are used to. Until now, this app was competing for a place in a sector in which WhatsApp and Line dominate the market, that of the instant messaging, but adding an interesting social touch that allowed its users to interact with the environment and easily meet new people. In part, we could say that it mixed the social of Facebook and the messaging of WhatsApp.
But following the Basque maxim, things should be and done in a big way and that is why they did not want to limit themselves to having this application. Well, not quite, in fact what we have in front of us is a kind of swiss army knife with all possible tools for any situation, but that was just the seed of something much bigger. About a year ago, this company closed its second cycle of capitalization and entry of investors, reaching 10 million and to see how people like Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, (former president of Nokia) added their grain of sand to the project.
After this waiting period, it is now that users we begin to see the fruits of so much work already enjoy this masterpiece, finished? Yes, I have not mistaken the figure, 1 TB, or what is the same 1,024 GB of memory that we will have completely free at our disposal (it should be said that uploading is limited to photos, videos and music). Of course, the application continues to maintain its characteristics always and it will work the same as until now on mobile devices, except that from chat conversations we can access our own cloud without any problem and share, for example, a video that occupies 200 MB, something really unthinkable until now. In parallel, to facilitate its use, Spotbros also has computer support through a dedicated website for this purpose, which allows us to say that we have a new hard drive with all the laws.
And it does not stay here, since they have not forgotten about security and all the transmissions that we make will be protected by the system of AES-256 encryption, a real armor against any fraudulent use of our virtual life. In addition, as the creators themselves published, we will have a full control over the files we share, being able to completely eliminate anything with just a few clicks. Who has not happened that instead of sending the photos of a beautiful landscape, they have selected the one on the side, which was precisely getting out of the shower, and have sent it to their neighbor / friend / mother / mother-in-law?
While in systems such as WhatsApp sending an image implies losing control of what other users will do with it in Spotbros, the original owner of the content will be able to eliminate it completely, even preventing its future dissemination by other users.
But like everything in this life, to win you have to sacrifice somethingay in this case there have been two: the SBMails and the Shouts. The first of them, SBMails have been greatly limited, preventing them from being shared with any link to avoid loading the servers unnecessarily. In the second case, the Shouts, it was one of the features that accompanied Spotbros from the beginning and that allowed us to interact with new people within a 1.5 km radius, but the truth is that have not received the volume of use that its creators expected, and these, in a very understandable way, have decided to do without it.
From our point of view this application can mark a before and after, since no nonsense is being offered. 1 TB of capacity is something that not many computers have and having them for free is already … Impressive!!! It is clear that as a courier it is not a panacea, but it does achieve join the three services (storage, social network and instant messaging), Spotbros can give a lot to talk about.
