Spotify could also go free on mobile devices

Spotify has recently reported that it will soon bring the ability to use its application completely free of charge but with classic advertising on mobile devices.

The Wall Street Journal, which, citing sources familiar with the affair, notes that Spotify has signed deals with Sony, Universal and Warner for the new service:

Currently, a free version of the Spotify music streaming service is only available on desktop. On mobile, Spotify’s service requires a premium subscription.

With the launch of the new service in question, however, non-subscribers will be able to enjoy all the music streaming on their mobile. The service will allow you to listen to a limited number of songs to be played on demand and will offer mostly personalized radio stations.

The new service could be announced next week at an event in New York to which reporters were invited by Spotify.
