Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge – Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton plays TMNT theme in trailer

Faith No More’s Mike Patton sings a ‘radical’ new cover of the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme. The song can be heard in the trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. A new game inspired by the classic arcade beat-em-up action genre. Watch the trailer here and listen to the new TMNT version of the rock icon.

Patton has been a fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and of course the TMNT games all his life. His infectious energy is the perfect complement to the crazy feat of ‘turtle power’ you see in the new trailer. “This was an insane thing to do,” said the Faith No More singer. “I searched for my inner ninja to deliver a track worthy of my half-shell brothers! It was a great honor to serve them… and finally I made music that my nieces like too!”

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, heroes Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo and Donatello are ready for a new adventure. The game world in which they enter is made up of pixel art that you will recognize from the classic Turtle design from 1987. Armed with ‘shell-shocking’ new capabilities, the Turtles go all out and fight in iconic TMNT locations such as the neighborhoods of New York to defeat The Food Clan.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is the result of a special collaboration between two companies. Both Dotemu and Tribute Games have made their mark in the Retro Games arena. For example, developer and publisher Dotemu has been responsible for several remakes and sequels of classic series such as Streets of Rage 4 (nominated for Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2020) as well as the upcoming Windjammers 2 and Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. Tribute Games may be known as the studio behind original retro-themed IPs like Panzer Paladin, Flinthook, and Mercenary Kings. With these titles, they created new gaming experiences with the feel and look of classic games. Tribute Games also employs developers who were instrumental in the creation of the successful Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game beat-em-up and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game released for Game Boy Advance in 2007.
