This mod turns the good old DOOM into an FPS version of the first Zelda!
DOOM. You’ve played it in many ways, on the most varied platforms. But how about turning your incursion into **** into a nostalgic walk through Hyrule? Because this mod does just that: transforms the first DOOM in a first person version of the first The Legend of Zelda!
The work of a pair of fans — the modder exkodius is your friend Holkish – this mod uses the GZDOOM (basically an open source version of the classic, released for creating mods) as a basis to completely deconstruct the game, exchanging enemies and scenarios for (not so) three-dimensional sprites identical to those we saw in the first Zelda, back in the days of nintendo.
The work is not finished yet, but the video below makes it clear that the result is already beyond promising, check it out:
Considering that the chance of seeing a legitimate Zelda with a first-person view is slim, this might be a nice opportunity for homesick fans to revisit the title that spawned this great series from a new perspective!
As already said, the project is under development (aka not finished). If you want to try out what’s been done so far, you can download the mod files from the website ModDB. Obviously, you must have an original copy of the game. DOOM — and the file “DOOM.WAD” — to be able to run the game.
