DONTNOD Entertainment has announced that pre-orders for Twin Mirror are now live on PlayStation 4 via the PlayStation Store and Xbox One via the Microsoft Store. Players who pre-order the game on PlayStation 4 will receive a dynamic theme inspired by the game’s main character Sam Higgs.
This new narrative adventure was co-produced with Shibuya Productions and will be available for pre-order on the Epic Games Store since September 15, 2020. Anyone who pre-orders the game on this platform will receive the original Twin Mirror soundtrack as a digital pre-order bonus.
Diving on December 1st Twin Mirrorplayers in the life of Sam Higgs as they explore the mysteries surrounding Basswood and its inhabitants. A former investigative journalist, Sam Higgs has developed multiple analytical skills that are represented in the game by the Mind Palace, a place where players will discover multiple aspects of his personality.
Thanks to the unique gameplay mechanics that support the story, Sam’s Mind Palace is a safe space where the protagonist can be themselves without pressure or judgment. Players can delve into Sam’s past and witness his memories during flashbacks.
Sam’s unique mind, both logical and analytical, can sometimes hurt the feelings of his acquaintances. That’s when the Double comes into play – a character only Sam can see with a more empathetic and sociable image of himself. Sam can always rely on this ally to guide him through social interactions and navigate a society that sometimes rejects singularity.
Gradually, players will be faced with drastic choices with major consequences for how the story will unfold. Who should you listen to? Who can you trust? Faced with his own doubts, which voice will Sam decide to follow in his search for the truth? Some of his decisions will have a huge impact on the story.
Twin Mirror will be the first title to be self-released by DONTNOD and will be co-produced with Shibuya Productions. The digital PC version of the game will be available exclusively through the Epic Games Store for a year. For the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, DONTNOD is once again partnering with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment.
