Ubisoft shows us Sam, a personal gaming assistant currently in beta

At Ubisoft Club today it was revealed that, in an effort to make it easier for gamers to get the most out of their games, have created Sam, a personal gaming assistant integrated into the Ubisoft Club mobile app.

Using the natural language processing power of Google Cloud and Dialogflow Enterprise Edition, Sam aims to help gamers in many ways. Do you want to know more about a certain game or its DLCs? Looking for some general advice when it comes to gaming? Players will be able to speak or type their questions to Sam and receive relevant details, videos, stories and sites instantly.

According to Damien Moret, Ubisoft Club Brand Director, Sam was developed to return data to players in a meaningful way.

For Sam, it comes from two different ideas. We wanted to find a way to bring data back to players, and display it in a meaningful way to improve their gaming experience. Another key idea is that players are increasingly looking for answers to various aspects of games, such as tips, general information, or just a release date… and that it takes more and more time to find that information. We were looking for something really accessible, so that they can spend less time searching and more time playing. And that’s how Sam was born.

The beta for Sam is now available in English for Android and iOS (Canada only), and although the test is to see how accurate the system is, the Ubisoft team has also taken the opportunity to show how Sam relates to your Ubisoft Club account. Rainbow Six Siege players will be able to use Sam’s daily login feature to check out his in-game behavior and stats to help improve your game. Learn more on their website.
