Ubisoft, Xbox and ESL Announce Rainbow Six Pro League
Ubisoft, along with Xbox and ESL, the largest international eSports organization in the world, announce Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League global competition program, starting the first week of March 2016 on Xbox One and Windows PC. This new competition highlights Ubisoft and ESL’s commitment to supporting the growing community of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege fans. In addition, this competition gives casual players and combative fanatics alike the chance to experience the thrill of a blood-curdling competition for themselves.
“Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege was developed from the ground up with leagues and competitions in mind,” said Xavier Marquis, Creative Director of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege at Ubisoft Montreal. “We are very excited to be partnering with ESL, one of the biggest names in eSports, to create a competition for Rainbow Six Siege fans to compete and enjoy their beloved game.”
Season 1 of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League kicks off on March 4, 2016 at the Intel® Extreme Masters in Katowice, Poland. The European PC competition will start with eight games, after which this principle will also be continued in North America and via the Xbox platform in the weeks that follow.
Season 1 of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Pro League has a $100,000 prize pool and will support competition across Europe and North America on Xbox One and PC. At the end of each season, the best teams from Europe and North America compete in a live event. There is $50,000 in prize money up for grabs in the Season Finals on both Xbox One and PC.
