Microsoft has released a new build for Windows 10 Mobile Redstone. This build brings a lot of new features and improvements to the notification center, Cortana, within settings and on the lock screen. The prewiew update is available for insiders who have received Windows 10 Mobile officially, or who have a native smartphone with Windows 10 Mobile, the only exception is for the Lumia 635, which Microsoft will update in the near future.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Notification Center
The first novelty is for the notification center, which now no longer repeats the icon of the notified application, notifications will then be grouped under a single icon common to that app. New notifications have been implemented for Cortana, and now you will be able to view images in the notification panel as well as in popups. Cortana’s notifications will also be displayed in the notification center.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: App Priority
It will now be possible, as is already the case on PC. prioritize notifications for individual applications, with up to three levels. Normal, High and Top, you can also decide how many notifications will be visible per application.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Cortana
It is now easier to set a reminder with Cortana. In fact, it will be possible to introduce a photo of anything you want or want to be remembered in the memo. You can also create reminders to read or do something on a Universal App.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Settings
The settings center has been slightly changed, adding individual icons to the internal menus. Search within the various settings menu has also been improved. In addition, the Battery settings screen has been renewed, which now includes a detailed page on battery use.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Glance screen
The settings related to the Glance screen have now been moved from “Additional Features” to “Customization”. This will not force us to update the application every time we are asked and we should as it is an application within the system.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Microsoft Edge
Improved the copy / paste function within the application. By selecting a text field in an article, the option to copy the text will immediately appear next to our selection. There will also be a new paste key inside the keyboard. If we connect to a web page via a link from another app, pressing the back button will close the open tab and the browser, returning directly to the old application.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Emoji
This new Build brings with it new emojis, just as happened with the PC counterpart. The space related to these emoctions has been slightly modified to accommodate these new emoctions.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Lock Screen
As requested by many users within the insiders, it will now be possible to control the music player already from the lock screen. Furthermore, the direct button to the camera has been inserted in place of the back button. Just hold down the camera symbol to enter the application directly.

There are now new settings for the navigation bar. Options include the ability to lock the screen with a double tap on the bar. The other, on the other hand, enables vibration feedback by pressing the buttons on the bar.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Continuum
Also new for the Continuum feature of Windows 10 Mobile. You will now be able to enjoy the Ethernet connection with Continuum compatible smarpthones via a USB Ethernet. However, not all adapters are compatible.
Windows 10 Mobile Redstone: Notifications Customization
It is now possible to position and customize the notification center. With a long tap you can enter the modification. We will find in front of a list with the possible toogle to insert in the notification center, and subsequently, it will be possible to change the positioning.

Winwso 10 Mobile Redstone comes not only with merits, but also some known problems
- The camera app can crash upon entering the camera roll
- You will be able to see square boxes in some apps by entering emojis
- Sometimes no space I enter will work in the keyboard. To solve entering the menu and holding down on an app until the drop-down menu opens, this should solve, otherwise a restart will be required.
